Epichlorohydrin (ECH)
ANHUI LIWEI CHEMICAL CO.,LIMITED
[Introduction]
Our plant produces epichlorohydrin (ECH), a key intermediate. We utilize a green process using glycerol as the primary raw material.
We have extensive experience exporting and selling the chemical epichlorohydrin to our customers. Epichlorohydrin is an organochlorine compound and an epoxide. It is a colorless liquid with a garlic-like odor. It is poorly soluble in water but highly miscible with polar organic solvents. It is used in the processing of glycerin, plastics, epoxy resins, and elastomers.
INQUITRE NOWProduction Method
ECH is produced in two steps. Bio-based glycerol reacts with hydrochloric acid (HCl) to produce dichlorohydrin (DCH), which is then dehydrochlorinated to produce ECH. The unique molecular structure of this clear, colorless liquid enables it to undergo a variety of chemical reactions.
Application
Epoxy Resins: Epichlorohydrin (ECH) is used in the production of epoxy resins, enhancing their durability and chemical resistance.
Pharmaceuticals: Used as a solvent, humectant, and excipient in various formulations.
Water Treatment: Disinfection of drinking water and wastewater.
