Modified polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is a widely used synthetic polymer. Chemical or physical modification can significantly enhance its overall performance, making it more suitable for a variety of industrial and commercial applications. Traditional PVA, produced by hydrolysis of polyvinyl acetate, is widely used due to its excellent water solubility, film-forming properties, and biodegradability. However, unmodified PVA still has shortcomings in moisture resistance, thermal stability, and mechanical strength. Targeted modification can effectively overcome these limitations, giving the material even better performance in harsh environments.
