[Characteristics]

Soluble in cold water or hot water

From cold-water soluble items to those that dissolve in hot water, KURARAY POVAL FILM has a lineup of brands according to the needs of an application. We also offer alkaline-resistant POVAL FILM that uses a modified POVAL developed by KURARAY as its raw material.

Suitable as packaging film

POVAL FILM has superior properties that make it less susceptible to damage by stretching, tearing, and impact.

Has superior resistance to oils and chemicals

POVAL FILM is characterized by its resistance towards animal, plant and mineral oils, and other lipids, as well as organic solvents and hydrocarbons. It is also not easily permeable. (Note, however, that there are a limited number of organic solvents such as glycols, DMSO, and phenols, that would dissolve POVAL FILM.)

Has superior gas-barrier properties

Has high gas-barrier properties toward oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and other gases in a low-humidity environment. Also has good aroma retention.

Is well-suited to processing and fabrication

POVAL FILM can be easily heat-sealed in the same manner as other films like polyethylene. It has adequate mechanical strength and is suitable for bag-making as well as filling work. Filling-related problems that occur with low-density agricultural chemicals, etc., will be reduced because it is not easily electrostatically charged.
It is easy to print on the film with aqueous ink.
