What is EcoVAE®?

EcoVAE® is a family of versatile VAE emulsions that can be formulated into low-odor DIY and contractor architectural paints with high scrub resistance preferred by consumers. Contractor paints made with EcoVAE® offer very good wet edge and excellent touch-up characteristics and can also be used across a range of sheens from flat to semi-gloss.

VAE emulsions allow formulators to achieve low-temperature film formation and required film durability of high-quality paints without using coalescent. Celanese is one of the top vinyl acetate ethylene manufacturers and has brought big environmental innovations in coatings industry.

Why EcoVAE®?

Celanese developed the first non-solvent binder technology for low-VOC paints decades ago. Today, EcoVAE brand vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) emulsions are enabling low-VOC paints that meet increasingly stringent VOC legislation while meeting consumer demands for high scrub resistance.
